Virginia grew up in Texas and Mississippi and made Holland home when she started teaching at Hope in 2007. She is happily married and enjoys spending time with all of her nieces and nephews as well as her identical twin sister! She is an avid runner but wasn’t always that way. She qualified for her first Boston marathon in 2010 with a time of 3:39, after only running her second marathon. She has now ran 15 marathons, numerous half marathons- one in Ireland with a PR time of 1:38! She earned a certification through Road Runners Club of America and found that she really enjoyed coaching others. Running led to friendships and friendships led her to CrossFit!
She loved how CrossFit challenged her and she enjoyed the variety of the workouts. She loved pushing herself and saw getting her L1 as a challenge. When we asked her what she loves about coaching she stated, “I enjoy helping people find what they can do- seeing the “a-ha” moment when a movement makes sense or when someone pr’s or does something they didn’t think they could do. I believe coaching, just like the teaching and mentoring roles that are part of me being a professor at Hope, allows me to be part of God's work of forming people into who He created each of us to be - on the inside. The outside/physical benefits are the icing on the cake.” Virginia we love your energetic passion for fitness, health, commitment to Christ, and the way you embolden others. We are so excited to welcome Virginia to the CrossFit Holland team!

When asked what she loves about coaching, she said, “I love seeing people achieve things they once thought were impossible!” She went on to say, "That confidence and belief in yourself carries over to so many other parts of your life. I believe that’s where the true transformative power of CrossFit lies.” Jen grew up in Jackson, MI and now resides in Holland. She is a lawyer and happily married to Eddie, a fellow CrossFit trainer. She said she found her love for long distance running again and says the strength she’s gained from CrossFit has led to new PR’s for 10k’s, half marathons, and 25k’s.
