melissa- women's hiit instructor
Melissa is a Holland native. She went to Michigan State and Grand Valley where she received her bachelors in nursing. Currently she works alongside her husband at their business, M.E. Yacht Restoration. She enjoys snowboarding, scuba diving and kiteboarding. Melissa was looking for something different when she found CrossFit Holland. She realized she needed to do something to change the trajectory of her health. She was gaining weight and things she enjoyed doing with her family were getting harder for her to do. After 40-some years of believing she was too uncoordinated for sports, she finally found her niche. She loves that there is a scaled version of every movement so anyone can do it. Melissa says, "It has changed the way I move, think and eat. It constantly challenges me and helps me set and reach goals. It improves my physical and mental health. It creates a place of belonging... no matter your fitness level or anything else." We love that her whole family CrossFits together! Melissa has a passion for fitness and for encouraging others and we're so glad she's a part of the CrossFit Holland family!
